Forged from solid bronze, these unique door knockers are the product of the age-old art of sand casting, a system of shaping metal through the use of sand molds. Featuring the tiny nose and long "mustache" typical of the breed, Michael adds the finishing touch to this handcrafted door knocker by including a bow up top – the same accessory that adorns many of these dogs in real life and a detail that makes this door knocker seem even more lifelike.
The Bronze Shih Tzu Door Knocker is coated with a baked catalyzed polyurethane, similar to the clear top coat on an automobile, which keeps it free of rust, tarnish and corrosion for years. Plus, when they do eventually become soiled, a quick wipe with a wet sponge and some mild soap restores their like-new appearance. Best of all, each doorknocker comes with two machine screws, designed to provide a simple and straightforward surface mount on any metal or wood door.
